Flowers from the blooms of war.

I enjoy taking pictures of flowers, I think I get it from my grandfather, during my younger years I remember asking my granddaddy if I might have a look at his "war albums". They are a series of scrapbooks that he made from things collected and photographs he took during World War II. In them are horrific images, burnt cities, soldiers grimy with the mud of war, newspaper clippings, commendations, millions of Reich Marks. Then he showed me another album of photographs, beautiful images of mountains, National Parks, landscapes and the most beautiful images of flowers. Those are the images that I liked the most, he inspired me to learn more about photography.

He seldom spoke of his experience in Europe. I recall when Saving Private Ryan came out I asked him if he was going to see it, his response still gives me chills. He looked me in the eye and said "Grandson, I lived through that movie once, I have no want to live it again".

Although intriguing the images of war, the flowers and his gift for capturing them, is just one of the many things I love of my grandfather to this very day.

Emma: Badass.

Let's hope you never have to meet Emma in a dark alley, hell even a fully lit alley. She looks so ready for anything anyone throws at her. However I know it is only a picture, that she is a wonderful little girl that I love. She might be made of glass, but it's pretty thick.

Oh! And she will Judo-chop you in the neck!

An uncomplicated red bike's twilight

My neighbor rides this little three speed all over town, he tells me that he had so much more energy when he was twelve; he is now in his sixties. I like the simplicity of the three speeds, the elegant beauty of faded fire engine red. But like the setting sun, it's time is finite. Like all things. Like everyone, fading with time.

Distractions

Scott Bauer called me up yesterday and invited me to the river, with him and Dawn. It was a blast and really got my mind off of the recent developments in my life. Was at least able to take a bunch of pictures, I snapped at least 400 images of them wakeboarding. I would really like to try some time, however, due to my enormous feet I am unable to fit into any of their boots. Some other time when I have money. Scott invited Kara along, unknowingly. I have a feeling she would have enjoyed it.

Perhaps I can become a gigolo?

So, I am having a killer day.
I am going to win a photo contest with this picture today.
The sun is out the air is crisp.
I have no prospects and I wonder if anyone ever visits this site.

Oh, and Kara dumped me, cause she loved me.

About to cash in my chips and curl up in a corner somewhere.

I guess all that awesomeness was bound to fail.

But why again?

Eh. I guess in the end nothing really matters.
