I am thankful for a great number of things...

I am thankful that "our" kids get along so well.

I am thankful that Emma takes direction when I am trying to test out new equipment. Pam got me the Gary Fong LightSphere Pro Package for Christmas. While it isn't a shotgun, it's still really great.

Stephen loves to have his picture taken, especially when there are Legos to build. Note: Legos in the background.

Ahhhh... that's better. Uncle Josh threw down and at great sacrifice to the body, helped his nephew build an awesome Lego six legged battle droid troop transport.

I am glad the kids like Pamela, and that Pam has a new love of building Legos.

This is the outside of Emma's Green Grocer set. More info on the Lego site.

My Dad

He is pretty cool. His name is Hugh Coonfield, I really want to transition my parents to gmail accounts. They often travel and the portability and ease of use are far better, than their old Comcast POP3 account. Luckily, my folks are more tech savvy then most AARP members.

I consider my father responsible for my computer prowess, we made the trek to Beaverton, Oregon when I was eight years old to pick up our first computer. It was an AST 10 MHz, 286, with 4 megabytes of RAM, and a EGA video card (that means that it has a staggering 256 colors) and a ten megabyte hard drive. TEN MEGABYTES! How could we EVER fill that up? I will never forget the wonder in watching him work, teaching me DOS commands. that was 1983.

Thanks Dad.
Smart of you creating tech support for life. Now go hook up your gmail account before Mom beats you to it.

Silverton.

Pam took us out on Saturday. To be totally honest the aventure could have been better, but it was fun. The kids like to move a little faster, as do I. But we did have fun in Pams favorite yarn store, went into a fun little import shop. Pam Spioled the kids a bit, which I think is a little cute. Oh, and we saw Stu, the United States only openly transgendered Mayor. But the Park was where it was at! In Silverton there is a great park with REALLY tall swings, I pushed Pamela and she loved it. I pushed the kids and they got scared.

Is it a self portrait if someone else presses the button?

So my eight year old, Stephen helped me take this shot in my dark living room. I'm manually using a detached flash on a one second exposure. Darkened and softened the image and used a portrait plugin in Photoshop. Painted out one of the shirts I was wearing. The funniest part, Emma is in the background, on the couch, playing on my new phone.

Original (lightened the background a lot so you can see Emma.)

Steve's New Hat

Swung by Andy and Bach's this weekend with Stephen. He got a real arctic weather, rabbit fur lined hat. Also acquired, a pair of wool fingerless gloves. His thinking behind them: "I will still be able to shoot."

Coffee House Cafe Show

So. Next month my photography will be featured in the front of the Coffee House Cafe in downtown Salem, Oregon. I am excited and stressed. Hope to have fun and get all the things I need to get done: done.

Oh, this is a picture of my friend Amy, she will come down and buy a picture and hang it in her new apartment in Portland.
