Steve and I Went For a Walk.
Steve and I went for a walk on Sunday, for about three hours. He showed me the skipping pond (where Mill Creek hits the Willamette). Got gelato. Had some general fun. I love the time that we spent together. Thanks Buddy!

Kodak Box Cam: Double Lens Single Reflex
So here is the crazy apparatus that I've taken the last few posts with. The lower portion below my hand is an old Kodak box camera, the kind that has a prism and mirror so you don't have to move the camera you just look at the top of the box, compose your photo and click. I took a paper cup, cut the bottom out of it, and taped it up using blue painters tape from 3m (it will peel off clean if left on fourteen days or less). Then I went around the painters tape with electrical tape to remove any light leaks. Put my lens of the D90 inside the paper cup, and shoot. I found that there is enough dust and rust on the mirror inside the box camera to cause the auto focus to not perform well. I had to use manual focus for the results I was going for. With the flash affixed to the DSLR, it is a little hard to frame the shot, but I like the old time look that the dust, aberration, and vignette that the viewfinder brings. Special thanks to Emma Coonfield for taking this picture of her dad and the crazy camera.
